Tooth Shape:
Tasselled wobbegongs have long, slender teeth which are well designed for catching fish. They have a narrow but powerful jaw.
Reproduction:
Ovoviviparous - Pups hatch from egg cases inside the mother and are born live at around 20cm
Interesting Facts:
The Tasselled Wobbegong can be recognised by the thick fringe of branched lobes around its mouth. Its body is a light sandy grey colour with many blotches and spots over the rest of its body.
It can change colour slowly over several days to blend in with its environment.
Wobbegongs are ambush predators that lie in wait on the bottom. They prey upon bottom dwelling fish and invertebrates that come within striking distance.
